How counties are worked out

Each operating centre’s postcode district is placed in the county where most of its postcodes are, using the Office for National Statistics postcode directory. England uses its ceremonial counties (Greater London, Kent, West Yorkshire); Scotland its 32 council areas; Wales its 22 principal areas.

County pages are indexed for search when at least 10 company goods licences have an operating centre there. Sole traders and partnerships are counted, never named.
