## What the register shows

- **In liquidation:** A liquidator is winding the company up.
- **In administration:** An administrator runs the company, usually to rescue it or to get a better result for its creditors.
- **In receivership:** A receiver, usually appointed by a lender, deals with some or all of the company’s assets.
- **Gazette insolvency notice:** A notice published in The Gazette, the official public record, such as a winding-up petition or the appointment of a liquidator or administrator. A petition can be dismissed; the notice says what was published, on its date.

### Why a licence can still be listed

The DVSA operator licence file and the Companies House register are separate public registers, updated on their own timetables. A licence stays in the DVSA file (here, the file dated 7 October 2026) until the Traffic Commissioner records a change, so the two can differ for a while. What happens to a licence is a matter for the Traffic Commissioner.
